Concretex Modular Toilets
The upgrading of sanitation in informal settlements has been a priority of most local authorities throughout the RSA. Concretex has been involved in many of these projects with the provision of various toilet solutions. These projects have covered the Western Cape, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape. The design of the units allows for easy handling especially in confined spaces as can be found in some informal settlements. The panels can be carried by hand through fairly narrow gaps and no mechanical handling is required.
Concretex manufactures and where required installs various types of modular toilets using the Afrimod Building Solution.
The units are delivered in knockdown kits on pallets and usually delivered to the point of installation. The units can easily be erected with the use of a spanner and between two and four labourers.
Various Toilet Solutions:
- Top structure with rear discharge hole for water-bourne sewerage
- Top structure with base discharge for pit sanitation. These are commonly used in rural areas. Once the pit is full, another pit is dug and the toilet structure is unbolted and moved into position over the new pit.
- Top structure with base discharge designed to fit an anaerobic sanitation digester.
- Top and bottom structure (VIP’s) These units are used when the pit is required to be lined to avoid ground collapsing. Both structures consist of moulded panels bolted together and come complete with toilet, seat, lid and ventilation pipe.
